Our first week of serious winter training has gone very well. See our training diary page!
What we have found is that, having swum in the very cold fresh water loch (at 5°C), our normal sea swimming experience is wonderfully warm in comparison. As a result, we are enjoying our sea swims all the more this year.
Lottie has spent rather a lot of time googling our fellow competitors in the UK Cold Water Swimming Championships Endurance Challenge – apparently they are “all channel swimmers“. Oh dear. I suppose I’ll be last again (which means I’ll really be the WINNER!…).
Tomorrow the DUGTUB will be cranked up again. Hoping for a good turnout. The Polar Bear has promised to wave as he crosses the Atlantic (by airliner, not swimming).
