Freezing to fabulous in 1 day!!

Overnight the water has warmed up beautifully and quite unexpectedly.  I had an early morning swim yesterday in ice cold, clear, green shimmering water, listening to the cuckoo.  Today I plunged in at high tide in the late afternoon sun and was amazed at how gorgeously warm and delicious the water was.  The normal painful first 5 minutes just didn’t happen and I swam about happily, revelling in this first warm swim of summer.  I decided this called for a celebration, so I swam out quite deep and flung off my bathing suit for my first skinny dip of the season.  I left my suit on a nearby boat and enjoyed being a mermaid, swimming about in my skin for some minutes.  But fearful of practical jokers (my cousin Hans for example) I soon retrieved my suit and donned it underwater, thereafter emerging in a respectable manner, to get dressed in the sun on the warm jetty.  Yet another perfect swim.  Looking forward to joining Lottie and Duggie tomorrow morning to take Anna (who has arrived from Dorset) for a swim safari down through the narrows of Linne Mhurich with the ebb tide.
